When saving a basic program to .d64 disk, I cannot overwrite a previous version by using the same filename - it always keeps the first version I save. Anybody managed to do this? Thanks.
Also, when verifying the saved program with the same filename I get a verify error (as you would expect as it hasn't saved the new version).

A Commodore 64 does not support "save with replace" like that. On a Commodore you had to save new versions of your progs under a new file name every time. Like: "myprog01" and "myprog02". Then you'd delete the old "myprog01". There is a way to "save with replace" but nobody uses it because the 1541 drive had a bug that would corrupt your disk sometimes when you used it. See this link.

The save and replace command was originally @:filename I used that a lot on my C64 since the 1990-2000's, when I was updating a disk with a new file. That was of course on a 1541-II
