Just wanted to share my latest powered hub for the 'The C64 Mini'. It's The '1541 Mini'. It's really only a UGREEN SuperSpeed, 5Gbps, 3-Port USB, Data Hub with a Memory Card Reader for SD TF Micro SD SDXC SDHC Micro SDXC Micro SDHC, Powered.
I have relocated two of the USB's to the back of the unit with the third occupied by my wireless keyboard fob (inside). The graphics were done using decal paper. The vent cut out was probably not required from a technical standpoint but I needed the plastic to make plugs for the screw holes in the case lid.
1x USB 3.0 Hub, UGREEN SuperSpeed 5Gbps 3-Port USB 3.0 Data Hub 1x 158 x 90 x 40mm Electronic ABS Plastic Junction Box (closest size match I could find) 1x USB cable as the original hub's cable is a little short. 2x USB breakout boards 1x short micro USB cable 1x micrio christmas lights as I could not source in a small enough number 2mm Green and Red LED's.
The front of the drive was chopped up parts of an old black keyboard. I had a combination of textured plastic and smooth so was able to select areas to cut out and form the floppy drive front.
This is the type of accessory I had hoped Retro Games would come up with in support of their C64 mini.
Now onto a working keyboard (something else I think that would sell well).

DG5KR: When I was young I felt like the world was turning faster. The C64 was a world full of adventure. First Basic, then Assembler, playing incredible games with friends. It was the best time of my life.

j.: @lordvico - I've noticed this with lots of games. I wondered if this was a PAL vs. NTSC thing and also wondered why the screen type wasn't translated for me.

j.: william - don't pull the joystick. If you need to pull to insert a USB stick - get a USB hub so you can have both plugged in at the same time. One way to save would be to use the game save-state feature. This would be the easiest to do for 4 or less

william: So far I am pretty frustrated using the BASIC. Every time I pull out the joy stick to put the usb into the machine it pops out of BASIC and goes back to the main menu. How does one write a program in BASIC and save it?

eBUG: Hmm how about the C64 makers include some Pascal software and other creative software in addition to games in the carousel ? :-D
