You can get a sid player here... csdb.dk/release/?id=161475 Sidplay is what I use. Just copy sid files from the PC to your USB Sids are here... www.hvsc.c64.org/

Hi All
How do you play sid files on the c64mini. What do i need and how. Andrew
PS I am new to the c64 mini.
SIDs are not usually intended to be played on C64 / C64mini. SIDs are exported out of C64; "in there" are something like programs, sort of. It is much easier to find original .prg /.d64 music collections at csdb.dk, e.g.: advanced search, Release Type: "C64 music collection" (select). The easiest way is to use Sidplay64 (there is readme file in archive, use "normal" version for Mini) and put it on disk image (by using e.g. DirMaster) Pick up some sid (e.g. download it from hvsc.c64.org/), copy it to same disk image (where you put Sidplay64). Beware, there are at least 2 different types of sid (> readme). I didn't try Sidplay64 yet, but I did "revert" some sids for using it at e.g. VoodooNoter. For VN it has to be "standard" sid (init: $1000, play: $1003) iirc. This sounds more complicated, but it is not so (if you don't have to relocate it): First you should use old good Sidplay ( SIDPLAY2/W), load sid and take a look at File/Properties of init and play addresses. If it is 1000/1003, then you can play it even from pure C64 BASIC:
or (probably better): (but both may or may not sound how it should be "for real")But you should probably get rid of "header" before, here is how: Go to File/Conversion... (at Sidplay) select at "Save to type:" "C64 data (.dat)" extract (convert) "dat" and copy it to disk image. edit: I found topic with that procedure and even more info: www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1606Here you can listen / choose ONLINE most of SID tunes from HVSC collection: deepsid.chordian.net/And here is WebSID experiment, where you can play / load / save "websid" tunes: www.igorski.nl/experiment/websiddemo song (just press play down left)

I'm using SidStereo. Using Dirmaster, I created a D64 image, moved SidStereo.prg and its configuration file to the top of the D64 and then added my .PRG format Sids, which you can convert. I did have to modify a .cjm file for the D64 image in order to be useable with the C64 stick in a manner that makes sense.
You should be able to find SidStereo.prg somewhere on the internet and if someone wants me to, I can copy my .cjm file configuration for it.

deerwings , Welcome here and thanks for info. Could you send me as pm zip archive with SidStereo, .cjm and D64 with SidStereo and some demo Sid, please? Not that I couldn't handle it myself, but I don't have time nowadays to search etc. Thanks in advance.
