Caps Lock in THEC64 MINI (50 Hz) with firmware 1.1.4 doesn't work the same way as SHIFT LOCK on the real C64. This means it's more difficult to type in long texts using capital letters using THEC64 MINI. It should work in BASIC, COMAL 80 (cartridge) and more. Now Caps Lock works in a strange way and just capitalizes the first character if you press it and hold it down, or have no effect if you press it so that the Caps Lock LED is lit. Can you confirm this bug? I hope this gets fixed in a future firmware.

Its because Vice is 2.4 and properly they have fix that bug now,(Vice 2.4 is from 2012/13)the only way it can be fixed is if a newer version of Vice is installed(or install a version of Vice 2.4 that been fixed) but that would stop all the snapshots from working,the games on the C64 Mini's Carousel only support and work on Vice 2.4 and no other version of Vice.

It's mostly because the modern USB keyboard sends a single keypress to indicate caps lock has been pressed and does a software toggle. Vice is emulating the hardware, and the original Shift lock was essentially a hardware catch on the button that pressed shift constantly (You can get the same results by holding down shift the entire time) so you didn't have to hold it down. But Shift didn't just change the case of the characters, it also toggled the characters on other keys (Such as the number keys), which caps lock on a modern keyboard doesn't. The only way to properly emulate it would be if Vice recognized the state of the Caps Lock as a Shift Lock and emulated it, but a new version of Vice still doesn't do that last I checked.
But if they upgrade Vice in the C64 Mini, all of the snapshots they are using in the mini will break, since newer versions of Vice don't like older versions' snapshots and will complain about it, if it even runs at all, which will require a complete rebuild of all snapshots.

I think they can fix it in their version of VICE 2.4. When the Caps Lock light is on it should be like Shift Lock is down, and all keys including numbers should send their shifted value.
