I've installed a converter for this purpose in the sendto menu of my win10 desktop, but I guess ImageMagick uses the command line(?)

I just sent out v0.35b for testing. Could you try using the joystick dialog box and test changing system parameters. It has a bug... if you click add or edit and click on Game button, you can't add a vsf file, they are not showing,so you can't add a game to it,so I am holding it back for now,I have pmed you about it,I had to go back and carry on using v0.34...?

adding accuratedisk works for me in the tool. This switches ON accurate (slower) disk drive functionality, necessary for some programs to load correctly. This is off by default.

I'm also testing. Tool is fantastic. I spent MOST of last weekend curating my own top 80 games ...
I'll be hosting it over at TheC64MiniZone.com as well as providing an in-depth tutorial video (hopefully be shooting that this weekend) for the release.

The game tool is now renamed to "TheC64 Maxi Game Tool" Since there are to many differences between them and since I don't have a mini I will focus on supporting the Maxi only. Of course the tool will work for the mini but some values like Vertical Display Shift are different from the maxi to the mini. Specifying that this is for the maxi will most likely prevent to much nagging about incorrect values not working for the mini etc..

By any chance the people making the games that work on the software can they be posted on the forum? Or will it be a copyright issue. I have a few more games I'd like only problem is I can't get the artwork to work. Thanks

Just a couple of questions regarding current or future options with the tool
- can you add Vic 20 games to the maxis carousel? - can you add “Basic” to the maxis carousel? - does the tool or will the tool be able to automatically resize cover and screen images to the correct size? - will the tool eventually be able to automatically download covers/screens and game information for games you add like hackchi for the nes/snes mini does?

You start basic on the maxi from a different menu. - Yes, the tool will auto resize and auto reduce colors to what the carousel support. (That is 122x175 256 colors for covers and 320x200 256 colors for screen shots) - Don't know if I will be adding support for that. Will not be in the first release version. The games that comes with the box uses 16 colors for screen shots. I did not notice that when I implemented median cut but I might change that also in near future. Is that something that the users want? Will you prefer saving some space using 16 colors or have the opportunity to have screen shots that is 256 colors? Atm. the tool only support .png images so I would first have to add support for more image formats before it would make sense to add support for auto downloading. Hope this helps.

The problem I find with C64 games is getting a good description of the games,Lemon64 and Gamebase64 do not have one, only one I have seen is www.c64-wiki.com/ You could add a link to the game on c64-wiki in the game tool. so you fill in all the info from that link yourself, Thats what they did in pbPSCReAlpha for the PS Classic and easier sticking to one site. If you get a pic/cover for the game thats jpeg just use paint to change it into png.

I have this working. I have managed to put on the pre made .gz files that others have created, but have problems creating my own. The covers and screen are the correct aspect ratio. I've used vice to create a snap shot file. When I run the carousel tool I get an error loading file which is the .gz file. It is in the correct format and created on the carousel tool previously with the screen shots etc... in the correct folders. The error message is it can’t find the .gz file which is in the correct folder with the screenshots etc...

Only Vice 2.4 files load in the Mini/Maxi. 3.0 and above will not work.

Look at the TSG file for the game and for the gz file in there, its pointing to one it can't find, and has the wrong name for it. it be under "F:games/"

Just ignore the files outside of the game files and screenshot files. I've taken some screen shots so maybe someone will figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am using vice 2.4 that was included with the c64 tool to create the .vsf file.

Just ignore the files outside of the game files and screenshot files. I've taken some screen shots so maybe someone will figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am using vice 2.4 that was included with the c64 tool to create the .vsf file. Open LAWOFTHEWEST-ms.TSG file with notepad, edit it so it works in theC64 Maxi game tool, see if its pointing to the right files. Check to see if the files that are in bold are right in your TSG file and are pointing to the right files..? TSG files are CJM files that are Text files really, All files have to be named the same name. If any are wrong you can get a file error cause it can not find the right files. To me it looks like you have the wrong file in games/games folder, when it should be a .vsf.gz not LOTW.vsf (Vice snapshots need compressing),it needs to be LOTW.vsf.gz so the file is wrong and has wrong name, it needs to be the same name as the TSG file so LAWOFTHEWEST.vsf.gz. THEC64 Maxi Game Tool compress .vsf to .vsf.gz when you add them so when you run TCMGT you get a file error if it's not a .vsf.gz file. The name is not the same as the TSG file too, if you added it with TCMGT it would of called all the files the same name, like ALLEYKAT is named. I would start again and delete TSG file then run TCMGT and add game again.

I started again and I'm getting the same error. The TSG file reads
T:Law Of The West X:64,pal,sid6581 D:en:As sheriff of Gold Gulch, a small town in the Wild West, the player creates confusion. However, this sheriff doesn't jump over roofs and rolling waggons while shooting around, but first talks before he shoots the gunslingers' nobs. Yes, talking makes up the main part of this game. Per counterpart there are each 3 conversation phases with each 4 pre-formulated answers (+ revolver), so you get a nice number of 64 diifferent possible endings D:fr: D:de: D:es: D:it: A:Accolade M:Ed Bogas E:simulation Y:1985 F:games/LAWOFTHEWEST.vsf.gz C:covers/LAWOFTHEWEST-cover.png G:screens/LAWOFTHEWEST-00.png G:screens/LAWOFTHEWEST-01.png J:2*:JU,JD,JL,JR,JF,JF,JF,JF,JF,F1,F3,F5,JF,,
The LAWOFTHEWEST.vsf compressed file is in the games directory. What I'm doing is creating the .vsf file from vice 2.4 that is included with the TCMGT using a snapshot with no options. Then I'm going into the TCMGT program selecting the screens and the .vsf file and the .vsf file is compressed with the program and put in the games directory. Although the screen shots I seem to have to copy over seperate.

LAWOFTHEWEST-00.png,LAWOFTHEWEST-01.png need to be added to the tool.

Just added the game fine.. I've done what you said. I've downloaded the files in .png format and added them again. Still the files arn't adding to the folders. Only thing that adds is the .vsf file into the game folders.
