Hey all, just released v1.0 of a small tool that runs in the background and lets you control the volume with CTRL + theC64 key + F1 for Volume Up CTRL + theC64 key + F3 for Volume Down Install it the usual usb stick / upgrade firmware way. There is a bundled release here, just extract to root of usb stick and upgrade. You'll know it's done when you mash the keys and the volume changes github.com/podulator/theC64keydaemon/releases/tag/1.0.0More info is here github.com/podulator/theC64keydaemonThanks to jj0 for testing for me .....

Is this still working? I have an All-in-One PC with HDMI input, but unfortunately doesn't have any way to control the volume. This sounds like exactly what I was looking for to solve that issue without having to buy a separate monitor or TV. Question...is this compatible with all firmware upgrades? If I were to run into any issues, is there a way to remove/uninstall? Thanks!

I was thinking of adding this to PCU but PCU uses evtest to make the shortcut so all I need to know is what are the keys for vol up and vol down in evtest, anyone can find out what they are, cause I don't know what they are and I will add them..?

Woudn´t it be a splendid idea to implement volume control in PCU by "CTRL +" to increase and "CTRL -" to decrease the sound volume ?? Just an idea.

Volume Controller.. uses its own keys, if you could make a version for PCU with keys CTRL and + for Up and CTRL and - for down, I can't use this cause it installs on the firmware, I need a version that will run from the USB Stick and added to the Autostart.sh script where it would run from...? I don't know how it works so I don't know how you would go about added volume controls to PCU, I don't know if you can control the volume with the keyboard, I need help. It would need to be able to work on THEC64 Mini via a keyboard too.

Just in case, I picked up a small 19" LCD TV from Goodwill for $10 the other day, so...if it doesn't work with my all-in-one, I have a backup.

Pod, I would like to add this to PCUAE but have a problem...? You need to change the key combo cause the key combo is conflicting with changing the carousel and there is no Key_Left_Meta on a keyrah keymap (Windows key), the I use with mine, in PCUAE if you press CTRL and F1 or F3 it will change to a different Carousels... F1 The Carousel v1.0.5 and F3 The Carousel v1.3.2 and it will change even if you have another key pressed with it, so if I press CTRL, Commodore Key and F1 it will change Carousel. You can use CTRL but have to pick another 2 keys that don't conflict with other keys in PCUAE, otherwise I can't add it.

We could add a check in PCUAE whether the Commodore key is pressed and then not switch the Carousel. Or add a volume up/down function altogether.

Hey, my the c64 is in the hands of a friend now, I frankenstein'd a RPi4 + keyrah +ssd thing together for me, so can't really test stuff anymore, but I can help with volume code in the carouselif it's the place to have it.... it means no in game changing levels, or can re-build using f5 / f7 if you prefer, and you can test? Just let me know which is preferred
